Things I Love About Spain and Sevilla

There are many things that I’ve come to love about Spain and more specifically, Sevilla, where I’m living and studying until December. Sevilla is a beautiful city, and Spain is a beautiful country. Here’s some of the things I love here, and keep an eye out for a post on Friday about the things I miss from America.

  • Architecture

  • Tapas – and the many places all over the city to eat them
  • Sangria
  • Tinto de Verano
  • The river
  • Santa Cruz

  • Culture of being outdoors
  • Sevici bikes – if you study abroad here, definitely plan to get a pass!
  • All of the many parks and plazas
  • The carriages constantly driving through the city
  • The orange trees
  • Flamenco
  • Street music
  • Low humidity
  • Lack of rain (at least in Sevilla)
  • Public transportation
  • Diversity of the country

  • Croquetas
  • ¡Jamón!
  • The many churches and cathedrals
  • Metropol Parasol
  • The many pedestrian only streets
  • Sevilla being a sister city to Kansas City
  • The shopping!
  • El Corte Inglés – you can get EVERYTHING there
  • The many fountains

  • Teeny tiny cobblestone streets
  • Old castles and palaces all over
  • Bars in parks (Weird right?)
  • Mojitios and other drinks para llevar (I mean why sit in a bar when you can drink your mojito in front of the beautiful La Giralda?)
